Dear Christians! Do Not Subscribe to Demon Time | Fortify the City
Podcast Episode
“Demon time” may feel like culture, but it carries deeper implications. This episode calls Christians to examine their words, reject misalignment, and return to an identity rooted in truth—not trends.
Some things sound harmless—until you realize what they’re actually aligning you with.
A Call to Awareness
Dear Christians. Children of God.
This is a direct call to awareness.
There’s a growing trend in culture where phrases like “demon time” are used casually—almost playfully. It shows up in conversations, captions, jokes, and everyday language. For many, it feels harmless. Just another phrase. Just another expression.
But not everything that is common is harmless.
And not everything that sounds light carries light.
What seems casual on the surface often carries deeper implications underneath—and if left unchecked, those implications begin to shape more than we realize.
Words Are Not Just Words
We live in a time where language is used freely, often without thought.
Phrases are picked up quickly, repeated often, and rarely examined. But words are not empty. They carry weight. They carry direction. They carry power.
What you say is not separate from what you believe—it reflects it.
And over time, what you consistently speak begins to shape how you think, how you identify, and how you move.
So when phrases like “demon time” become normalized, the issue isn’t just cultural participation—it’s agreement.
Agreement with language that directly contradicts who you are.
Misalignment in Identity
Referring to yourself as being on “demon time,” or labeling yourself or others as “monsters,” may feel like exaggeration or humor. It may seem like nothing more than expression.
But words don’t operate in isolation.
They attach meaning. They reinforce identity. They create alignment—whether intentional or not.
And when those words are rooted in darkness, they begin to pull identity in that direction.
That’s where the danger lies.
Because you cannot consistently speak in contradiction to who you are and expect to remain aligned with truth.
At some point, what you say begins to shape what you accept.
The Subtle Influence of Culture
Culture has a way of packaging things to feel harmless.
It softens language. It removes weight. It presents ideas in ways that feel normal, relatable—even entertaining.
And over time, repetition removes conviction.
What once may have felt off becomes familiar. What once would have been questioned becomes accepted. And what is accepted eventually becomes part of everyday expression.
This is how subtle shifts happen.
Not through direct rejection of truth—but through gradual desensitization to it.
Life and Death in the Tongue
Scripture reminds us that life and death are in the power of the tongue.
That means your words are not just expressions—they are declarations.
They reinforce what you align with. They shape what you agree with. And they influence what takes root in your life.
So the question becomes:
Why speak death over yourself when you’ve been called to life?
Why align your words with darkness when your identity has been established in truth?
These are not small decisions. They reveal what you are truly agreeing with.
Unintentional Agreement
Most people are not intentionally trying to align with anything negative.
That’s what makes this so important.
Because agreement doesn’t always come through intention—it often comes through repetition. Through what is said casually. Through what is laughed at. Through what is normalized without being examined.
And before long, something that was never meant to be part of your identity becomes part of your language.
And what becomes part of your language eventually influences how you think, how you see yourself, and how you live.
The Opportunity to Realign
But here’s the good news.
If you’re hearing this, you have the opportunity to correct it.
To pause.
To examine.
To recognize what has been casually accepted.
And to make a decision to shift.
To renounce what does not align.
To take back what has been given away through agreement.
To realign with truth.
Because alignment is not automatic—it is intentional.
Identity Requires Alignment
Being a Child of God is not just about belief.
It’s about alignment.
Alignment in what you think.
Alignment in what you say.
Alignment in how you identify.
When those are in sync, there is clarity. There is stability. There is direction.
But when they are out of alignment, confusion follows—and often, it starts with something as simple as what has been allowed to go unchecked.
Final Thought
This is not about overanalyzing every word.
It’s about being intentional.
Because what you say matters.
What you agree with matters.
And what you attach yourself to matters.
So be mindful.
Be aware.
And be grounded in who God has called you to be.
Because you were not created to align with darkness—even casually.
You were called to walk in truth.
