general Admission | Fortify the City
Podcast Episode
In this episode, Fortify the City explores salvation, eternal rewards, and what it truly means to live with Kingdom purpose beyond just getting into Heaven.
Most of us understand how access works in everyday life.
There are levels to everything.
General admission gets you in the building—but it doesn’t give you the same experience as VIP. It doesn’t give you proximity, priority, or deeper access.
And while that concept is normal in culture, it raises an interesting question when we apply it spiritually.
What if many people are approaching faith the same way?
Just trying to get in.
Not thinking beyond entry.
Not considering what comes after.
Not asking what God actually expects once you believe.
Because for many, the goal of faith has been simplified to one thing:
Make it to Heaven.
But Scripture suggests there is more to it than that.
More Than Just Entry
Matthew 6:19
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy…”
Jesus shifts the focus away from temporary success and toward eternal impact.
This means your life is not just about getting through—it’s about what you’re building spiritually while you’re here.
Because if everything ends at “getting in,” then why would Scripture repeatedly talk about reward?
Reward Is Part of the Conversation
Matthew 16:27
“For the Son of Man will come… and then He will reward each person according to what they have done.”
This is where things become more intentional.
Salvation is a gift—but reward is tied to how you live.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
But faithfulness.
This introduces a level of responsibility that many people don’t consider.
Because it’s possible to believe—but not build.
To enter—but not grow.
To accept—but not steward.
The General Admission Mindset
General admission isn’t a bad thing—it just reflects the minimum level of engagement.
You’re there… but you’re not fully positioned.
And spiritually, this mindset shows up when faith becomes passive.
Showing up—but not transforming.
Believing—but not applying.
Hearing—but not changing.
It’s the idea that as long as you’re “in,” nothing else really matters.
But that’s not how Kingdom living is described in Scripture.
Faith Was Never Meant to Be Passive
Fortify the City challenges the idea that faith stops at belief.
Because belief is the beginning—not the end.
God calls for growth.
Growth in understanding.
Growth in discipline.
Growth in alignment.
And that growth requires intention.
It requires you to move from being a spectator in your faith…
to being a participant in it.
A Shift in Perspective
The question is no longer:
“Am I going to Heaven?”
But instead:
“How am I living with what I’ve been given?”
Because your life now is not disconnected from eternity—it is preparing you for it.
And when you begin to see faith that way, everything changes.
Your priorities shift.
Your decisions sharpen.
Your awareness increases.
You stop living casually—and start living intentionally.
Reflection
General admission gets you in—but it doesn’t define your experience.
And spiritually, the same principle applies.
This episode challenges you to move beyond surface-level faith into something deeper.
Not out of fear.
Not out of pressure.
But out of understanding.
Because when you realize that faith is more than entry—you begin to live differently.
